This is an introductory/beginning level course taught in an ensemble format, paced for students with little or no experience in percussion music. The 10-week course covers the techniques for playing samba instruments, rhythms and musical arrangements in the tradition of the escolas de samba, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. All instruments provided. The course meets on Saturday mornings from 10:00am until 11am, January 10th through March 14th at the School of Arts and Culture inside the Mexican Heritage Plaza, 1700 Alum Rock Ave, San José, CA 95116.

The course fee is $10 per 60-minute class per student. Preferred forms of payment are Venmo and PayPal, though the exact amount in cash is accepted as well.
